THINKING OF CANCELLING (OR FREEZING) MEMBERSHIP DUE TO COVID-19

Please do consider before you cancel; Bardello may not be here when you want to return. You would then be depriving yourself and others of a truly treasured local amenity. If a significant number of Bardello members cancel in response to COVID-19, we will have to close - maybe for good.

In the near future it is likely that we will all be advised to stop going to public places in an attempt to slow down the spread of COVID-19; certain places may even be required to close completely. These places are likely to include gyms and health clubs like Bardello. Being a completely independent business we have no public funds nor large corporate finance to fall back on.

Of course you understandably want to protect yourself, your family and your friends from COVID-19. But, if you cancel your Bardello membership (or ask for it to be frozen, it has the same effect) Bardello may not be able to survive. This will deprive you, your family and friends of a unique, friendly and much-loved club.

As you know, Bardello supports many that would seriously suffer if it were not around. We all need each other's support during these trying times, especially unique businesses, like Bardello, that will be impossible to re-create once gone.

If you have already cancelled, please think about re-joining – simply send an email to us at: info@bardello.co.uk with the word ‘re-join’ and we will do the rest.

Your ongoing membership will make a huge difference to us. Thank you for your support, it is much appreciated.

Coronavirus gloves

Rules of the gym:
  • Frequently wash hands with soap and water.
  • Wipe down equipment after use.
  • Wear gloves.
  • Sneeze and cough into a tissue.
  • Do not wear a mask whilst exercising.
  • Do not come to the gym if you feel unwell or have been around someone who is unwell with an undiagnosed respiratory illness.
Since the wearing of masks is not practical nor recommended whilst exercising, the very best way to avoid contact with the virus is to wash your hands and/or wear gloves. This is due to the fact that other than airborne infection, the most likely route into your body is by touching infected objects with your hands and then putting your fingers on food, in your mouth, nose or eyes.

Rubbing your hands with anti-bacterial gel alone will only have a positive effect if the gel contains more than 60% alcohol by weight. This is due to the fact the COVID-19 is a virus and not bacteria, however COVID-19 does appear to have an enveloping outer layer that is damaged by alcohol.

Frequently washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water and not touching your food or face is by far the best way of reducing your likelihood of infection. Please cover your mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and then dispose of the tissue.

Coronavirus wipes

If you would like to clean your equipment before or after use, please take a wipe from the Duty Manager's desk.
